Mary Nelson
Mary Nelson, together with husband Roger, owns and operates Nelson’s Spring Creek Ranch. The ranch is a multigenerational operation, claiming the first settlers in the valley as ancestors. Mary manages the lodge and spring creek reservations. She is also the background support for most of what happens on the ranch.
Roger Nelson
Roger Nelson, like his father and grandfather before him, continue on the tradition of raising cattle. Roger’s herd is one of the finest cow calf operations in the state, with 500 head of quality Angus cows. He takes time each morning to share breakfast with our lodge guests and answer questions they have about ranch life.
Tucker Nelson
Tucker Nelson, like his father Roger was raised on the ranch. He grew up on the creek, observing bug life, stalking trout, and figuring out how everything worked together. It is no wonder that he grew up to become one of our areas most expert guides and with his wife Jacquie, opened Nelson’s Guides and Flies, and S/N Fly Shop, both operating on site at the ranch. When Tucker is not guiding, he is helping on the ranch.
Tricia Hamilton
Tricia Hamilton, Mary and Roger’s daughter, returned to the ranch in 2016 with her husband Ryan and two children. Her duties are many and varied, from helping with the operations at the lodge and managing reservations, to working cattle and raising hay. She accomplishes all with a smile and is as comfortable on a tractor as she is making blueberry muffins for breakfast. She and Ryan have 2 children.
Ryan Hamilton
Ryan Hamilton works from his home on the ranch as an engineering consultant. Like the rest of the family, Ryan often pitches in with all aspects of ranch life. Guests often meet Ryan as he drops or picks up kids at the lodge or does some minor repair work. Ryan loves being part of ranch life and having the opportunity to raise his children here.
Jacquie Nelson
Jacquie Nelson co-owns Nelson’s Flies and Guides and S/N Fly Shop with her husband Tucker. In addition to keeping the S/N Fly shop well stocked, she guides full time throughout the spring, summer and fall seasons. When she is not busy guiding, she is always willing to lend a hand around the ranch and is our resident photographer and graphic design expert. Tucker and Jacquie have 3 children.
