Nelson's Montana Fly Fishing News
Fishing Winter Rates – On October 15, our rates dropped to $40 a rod. The number of clientele has also dropped significantly. This does not mean, however, that the good fishing is over for the season. If you are not afraid of a little cold weather you could possibly get into some of the best fishing of the season. The cold drizzly weather brings about blankets of baetis with hungry brown trout looking for a meal as they compile energy for the fall spawn. As fall turns to winter, the baetis hatch wanes to be resumed in the spring and the creek produces steady midge hatches for the duration of winter.
