Nelson's Montana Fly Fishing News

Fantastic Fall Fishing on Nelson’s – Fall colors, big fish, less people, lower rates, and those are only a couple of the reasons why you should come enjoy a fall day on Nelson’s Spring Creek. Fall’s changing of colors signifies the pre-spawn for the notorious brown trout. During this time, larger browns are gearing up for spawning by collecting calories and staking out territory, which equals an angry fish ready to eat. And that’s not the only good news.

Fall time also produces excellent baetis and midge fishing. The baetis hatch best on overcast days, but they do show themselves for short periods of time during the nicer days. During the fall, the midges are always present for some challenging, but fun, fishing. There is nothing more gratifying then catching an 18 inch fish on a size 20 midge pattern.

Come join us for our beautiful fall and take advantage of the off-season rates. The rates are $75/rod from September 15 to October 15 and then drop to $40/rod after October 15.
